The annual Acoustic Fest music celebration will feature the world-traveled Janet Planet. Planet is set to be the second of nine performers this weekend, taking the stage at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (August 17th).
Janet Planet is known across the globe for jazz performances that turn concerts into immersive experiences.
The Appleton artist credits the likes of Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderly for her transition into jazz after singing folk music and anything that kept her and her bandmates working.
Her knack for jazz has taken Janet Planet, as the name suggests, all over the world, including Japan, South Africa, Russia, and Germany, performing anywhere from jazz festivals to quaint clubs.
However, she has also performed countless times in the Manitowoc area, and this weekend, she will be close to home for the 24th annual Acoustic Fest.
Janet Planet will hit the stage in Manitowoc’s Washington Park at 1:00 Saturday afternoon.
