A local organization aimed at serving children is looking forward to a successful fundraiser coming up.
The Executive Director of CASA East Central Wisconsin, Julie Ribley, made an appearance on Seehafer Broadcastings Hello Lakeshore Podcast to speak about the non-profit as well as upcoming events.
“CASA is … it’s a non-profit in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties, so CASA serves both counties,” Ribley stated, “We advocate for children that are under a … order, protective order, they have been found abused or neglected by a parent or caregiver by the court and we provide volunteers and advocates who advocate for their best interest in the court setting.”
She went on to emphasize that the core of the agency is found in the volunteers who donate their time to help the children that they serve.
“Advocates are the heart of the agency” Ribley said, “They are the ones that get to know the children, form that relationship with them, Really be able to talk to everyone that is involved in that child’s life including CPS and they are able to see court documents, so they really get to know that child so they can truly advocate for what’s in that child’s best interest, making sure that that child is safe and advocating for that permanency so that that child can have a permanent home.”
Ribley also described CASA’s upcoming Glow Golf Fundraiser which will take place in Plymouth, located in Sheboygan County.
The fundraiser will be held on September 6th and begins at 7:00 p.m.
This will be the second Glow Golf Fundraiser with this year’s event appearing at Crystal Lake Golf Course.
Along with golfing there will be live music, food trucks, a raffle, and a wine toss for the adults in attendance.
TVs will also be set up to watch the Packer game that will take place on the same night.
It is $40 per person to golf, which will include two drink tickets.
Teams can also be entered into the event with a team of four, costing $150.
Those looking to sponsor the event can sponsor a team for $350.
