James R. Poff, age 55, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Jim was born on November 6, 1968 in Waukesha to Robert Poff and the late Ann (Schueller) Poff. After graduating from Waukesha North High School with the class of 1987, he went on to graduate from UW La Crosse in 1992, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Jim was a dedicated, hard worker and was employed locally in the food industry for over 30 years. His love of hunting began at the age of two and carried on throughout his life. Jim was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing. Whether it was fishing, hunting, or just laying out in the sun, Jim loved to spend his time with his family and friends outdoors.
Survivors include Jim’s two children, Jenna Poff and Max Poff; father, Bob (Carole) Poff; siblings, Chris (Kate) Poff, Katie Poff, Joe Still, Dan (Anna) Still, and James (Elizabeth) Still; lifelong friends, Mike Goecke and Scott Hoover; the remainder of the hunting trio (or the “Not So Fantastic Three”), Dustin King and Ben Barbeau; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Life Celebration Social for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Jim’s cremated remains to be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha at a later date.
