A local athlete is gearing up for a massive bike ride throughout Wisconsin.
Don Davey, a Manitowoc Lincoln graduate who played for the Packers and Jaguars in the NFL, will be competing in a 700-mile “Tour de Wisconsin” fundraiser for military veterans in September in honor of his father.
The Tour is a collaboration with ONE MILE, which is a national charity team made up of civilians and veterans from around the country.
The event is officially known as OPERATION: Healing Hearts and will cover 700 miles in just 6 days, with stops in Madison, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Stevens Point, Green Bay, and Milwaukee.
Davey also tells us he will be making a stop in Manitowoc as well.
Davey will be joined by 19 other bikers, including Mike Campbell of Lannon, Wisconsin, and Amber Searer of Freedom, Wisconsin.
