A 32-year-old Manitowoc man remains in the County Jail following a foot chase with officers last Friday night.
The lone charge filed at this time against Daniel Albert Smith is Resisting an Officer.
Manitowoc Police received a call about 8 p.m. of a wanted person showing up at a residence in the 1100 block of Phillippen Street.
Smith fled through numerous backyards in the area as a K9 unit was called in to assist after it was learned that Smith had failed to appear in court on charges of Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct in connection to a Domestic Violence Incident.
He escaped, only to be apprehended a short time later. No one was hurt.
Bail was set at $100 cash with no conditions issued by the court. Smith’s initial appearance is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, August 16th) at 10:30 a.m.
