One man has died after a train struck his semi.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office reports that a semi-truck with a manure tanker attached collided with a train in the Town of Sherman just after 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
The truck was traveling west on Abbot Drive and was hit by the northbound train, sending it into the ditch.
The train’s engine and six cars derailed, only spilling some plastic pellets.
The 66-year-old Kewaskum man driving the semi died at the scene with no other injuries reported.
The State Patrol is working on the crash reconstruction, and no additional details or the names of anyone involved are being released at this time.
As of last word, the roadway is closed off to traffic for cleanup, with a detour in place using Allen Road.
