Wisconsin’s latest employment report indicates significant job losses last month.
The unemployment report for July reveals that the private sector shed 8,500 jobs, while the total number of non-farm jobs decreased by 6,500.
Despite these losses, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remained steady at 3%, and the labor participation rate held at 65.5%.
While better than the national average, Wisconsin’s labor participation rate is still below pre-COVID levels.
