A police fundraiser halted due to the COVID pandemic is making a return.
The Manitowoc Police Department’s “MTPD Police Chase” is making a comeback after a four-year hiatus.
The Police Chase includes a 4-mile run/walk and a one-and-a-half-mile dog walk that will take place at the Silver Creek Park Field House on Saturday, October 12th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Only rabies-vaccinated dogs will be allowed on the walk and must stay on a lease.
Manitowoc Police also remind owners that they are responsible for cleaning up after their dog.
The four-mile run/walk and dog walk costs $30 for now, as prices will go up after September 18th.
Proceeds for the walk will go toward completing the K9 Memorial Project.
The plan is to put a bronze police dog statue in front of the Manitowoc Safety Building.
The statue will be named “Liberty” and will be a statue of a German Shepherd created by a Colorado artist.
