A De Pere man is being treated for serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike.
WBAY TV reports that the 56-year-old man was riding his bicycle on County Trunk E, near County Truck J in Oneida, at 2:30 Sunday morning when he was hit by a 33-year-old Oneida man in a truck.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, along with several other emergency services, including Theda Star, which transported the cyclist to a local hospital.
The De Pere man was said to be suffering from severe injuries, while the driver of the truck was uninjured.
While the incident is still under investigation, preliminary reports indicate alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
The yet-unidentified driver was arrested on charges of OWI Causing Injury and Hit and Run Causing Injury.
