An event to help seniors avoid being victims of scams is coming up this week.
The Manitowoc County Public Safety Committee is helping with presenting “Common Scams and Frauds Targeting Seniors” through the Wisconsin DATCP.
The two classes take place this Thursday (August 22nd) with the first presentation starting at the Manitowoc County Office Complex from 11:00 am to noon.
The second presentation will be at the Kiel Community Center from 5:00 pm to 6:00.
Public Safety Chairman James Falkowski says the presentation is not only informative but also timely and relevant to our community, especially considering the rising number of scams targeting seniors.
Seniors will learn valuable insights and preventative measures that can help them from becoming victims of scams.
Local police will also be on hand to answer questions as well.
