*Update: Two Rivers Police put out a press release with an update on the status on the case.
Original:
It’s now been 6 months since 3-year-old Elijah Vue went missing from a Two Rivers apartment complex.
He was first reported missing on February 20th and set off a massive search with multiple police departments, the FBI, and the public looking everywhere they could for the missing toddler.
Here’s what we know so far.
According to a criminal complaint, Vue’s caretaker at the time, Jesse Vang, told police that after he took his teenage son to the school bus, he came to take a nap while Elijah was already asleep on the couch.
He brought Elijah into his bedroom, and when he woke up from a three-hour nap, he told police that Elijah was gone.
The complaint also alleged various incidents of abuse involving Vang and Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, before he went missing.
Since then, both Vang and Baur have been charged with chronic neglect of a child for their actions prior to his disappearance but have not been charged with anything directly related to it.
Two Rivers Police haven’t released an update about the case since June 17th regarding false information about Elijah being found and that additional drone searches had been done.
The original Amber Alert for Elijah is still active, and there’s still a reward for any information that leads to his finding or for the arrest and conviction of those involved in his disappearance.
