Wisconsin’s 1st District State Senator says he has no regrets in his run for the US Congress.
Republican State Senator Andre Jacque spoke about his attempt to be nominated in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District on WOMT’s Be My Guest program.
Jacque was very thankful to those who voted for him and those who supported him, “especially my family. My wife and kids, my parents, and so many volunteers really stepped up to let me kind of pursue this and see what would happen.”
Jacque continues saying it was a fun summer getting out to meet people in the district while things have continued at a statewide and national level.
There are several contested races around the state that could determine control of the Assembly and Senate, plus it’s been a very interesting election at the national level with the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
Jacque can still represent the 1st Wisconsin Senate District as its senator until the end of his four-year term.
Jacque ended up third in last week’s 8th Congressional District Primary, finishing behind former State Senator Roger Roth and winner Tony Wied.
He earned about 25,000 votes. Wied will face off against Democrat Kristin Lyerly in the November General Election.
