The Manitowoc County Expo Board is now the proud owner of a limited-edition canner, courtesy of the Manitowoc County Fair’s newest sponsor.
During Wednesday’s Board meeting, Eileen Yoder and Norma Lopez, two members of the All American 1930 customer support team, presented the all-yellow canner with the fair logo to the board.
This is one of only three such implements made by the company based out of Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry.
Yoder explained that the gift was in honor of the fair board for all that they have done to bring their organization to the fair.
“We wanted to come out, and we wanted to let the community know that we’re here and what we sell,” she said. “So we decided that since the fair was accepting us and letting us come out for the first time, we wanted to make a special limited edition commemorative canner for them.”
Jennell Shelton, the Expo Facilities Manager, tells Seehafer News that the team at All American 1930 has been fun to work with and said it is nice to have something new at the fair.
“We’re always asked at the Wisconsin State Fairs Association, what’s new this year at your fair?” she said. “This is something that we can talk about.”
Lopez also explained that All American 1930 is working with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help give back to those affected by cancer.
“We made a special edition canner,” she explained. “The canner is usually $500 and $100 of that is going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.”
All American 1930 is also sponsoring Sarah the Crazy Canning Lady, who will be on hand Friday and Saturday for canning classes and to entertain the crowd with her singing.
