A man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his roommate at a state mental health facility.
Cory Carlson received his sentence from a Taylor County judge following his conviction for the January killing.
Authorities reported that Carlson strangled his roommate in their shared room at the Almost Home Again facility in Gilman.
During the investigation, Carlson claimed to have been hearing voices and said he had no recollection of the incident.
Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to first-degree homicide charges.
