Following his serious motorcycle accident, Jason Prigge returned to the airwaves of WOMT last Thursday.
The first thing Prigge discussed on WOMT’s After Further Review was the gratitude he felt toward the community and why he wanted to return to the airwaves.
One of the first things he talked about was the misinformation surrounding the accident and how it was cleared up correctly.
“I actually read my own obituary on one of these (fake news) sites, ” he told Terry Stevenson. “You know, it’s hilarious and a lot of misinformation about the accident and stuff. I just wanted to clear things up and also give a shout-out of gratitude to the folks that helped us.”
Jason then recapped what happened in an accident when a woman swerved into their lane while they were riding their motorcycles home from the Porcupine Mountains.
Tina took the brunt of the impact and was thrown into a ditch. Jason ended up with a shattered leg because of how he fell when he was hit.
After the accident, people started to stop, and Jason said the most amazing thing happened.
“The first who stopped had medical training,” he described. “The second person who stopped was an off-duty EMT. The third person that stopped was an off-duty fireperson. All of these people knew how to respond to the scene, which was incredible to me, just incredible luck.”
The people there were able to tourniquet Tina’s leg, which ended up saving her life. Jason got several screws put into his leg to put it back in place.
Tina ended up having 15 surgeries, with several happening due to an infection in her leg from landing in the ditch.
She is now out of the hospital after getting help at the Green Bay Rehabilitation Center.
Jason then spoke about his appreciation of the community and what they’ve done to help their GoFundMe page, calling it overwhelming.
“I’m so grateful,” he exclaimed “That kindness and community wins. And my main message is to now let’s all, with this all happening to us and everybody showed up, lets show up for everybody in the community. Let’s pay this forward to other people.”
On the rest of the episode of After Further Review, he talks about Tina’s infectious personality while she was being treated and how his Teak Prigge handled the accident.
