The Long Lake Public Access parking lot and boat launch in Cascade will be temporarily closed.
An announcement from the Wisconsin DNR says the temporary closure starts on September 3rd while they make improvements to the parking lot and full replacement of the boat launch and amenities.
While under construction, the boat launch will not be available and will remain closed during construction.
Work at the Long Lake Public Access site will involve the construction of longer aprons, a floating pier, and an improved asphalt and concrete drive to the launch.
The slope of the driveway is also being adjusted to meet accessibility requirements.
These updates will improve the launch’s safety, make boat launching easier, and improve accessible parking.
The Long Lake Public Access area is just across the Fond du Lac County line.
