The Manitowoc Police Department confiscated some potential drug-making materials from a residence.
LT. Cooper Schmidt tells Seehafer News that THE City Inspections Department was conducting a routine inspection of a vacant home in the 700 block of Magnolia Avenue Tuesday when they found a suspicious object.
They called the Metro Drug Unit, which believed the item was a “vessel used in the production of controlled substances” and may have contained hazardous material.
The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation -Clandestine Laboratory Response Team (DCI) was contacted and responded.
Due to the flammability of the combined chemicals involved in the manufacturing of controlled substances, the Manitowoc Fire Department and EMS stood by during the entire investigation process.
DCI safely collected the vessel and removed it from the area.
Further testing will be done on its contents, but as of now, no new information is available.
