The Sheboygan Public Works Committee has approved and allocated funds for the demolition of County Highway Department structures.
The committee met on Tuesday (August 27th) and approved the demolition to make way for the new City of Sheboygan Fire Station number 3 and Public Safety Training Facility.
The city purchased the property, located at 1211 North 23rd Street, in early 2024.
As discussed and approved during the meeting, $141,622 was allocated from the city’s Capital Projects Public Safety – Land account and will be paid to Guelig Waste and Demolition, LLC to complete the demolition.
The project will begin in early September and is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
The construction of the new fire station is expected to begin in early 2025.
