The Sheboygan Mayor’s International Committee has announced the inaugural Journey to Japan event.
The event takes place on Saturday, September 21st, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Christopher Farm and Gardens.
The announcement of the first-ever celebration comes after a delegation from the sister city of Tsubame, Japan, visited Sheboygan last month.
A Journey to Japan will mark the 28th anniversary of the sister-city relationship and will offer an afternoon of cultural immersion for attendees.
The event will include Kendo Martial Arts demonstrations, tea tasting, origami workshops, and more.
Regarding the event, Mayor Ryan Sorenson said, “This celebration is a testament to the strong bonds we’ve forged with Tsubame over nearly three decades. It’s an opportunity for our community to experience Japanese culture firsthand and strengthen our international friendships.”
More information and tickets for the event can be found online on the A Journey to Japan Facebook event page.
