The Manitowoc Lincoln Ships boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at the Two Rivers Invitational on Thursday (August 29th).
According to Coach Michael Bubolz, the girl’s team took 2nd place in the 15-team field, narrowly edging out three teams by single-digit points to claim the runner-up spot behind Notre Dame.
Individually, Natalie Portmann finished 9th overall as the top runner for the ships with a time of 20:45, which is 1:30 seconds faster than her time on this same course a year ago.
The Lincoln boys team took 6th place out of 15 teams scoring 142 points.
The Ships placed ahead of Bay Port (150 points), who was 7th. Notre Dame was the boys team champion.
Individually, Reid Stryzewski was the top runner for the Ships with his 5th place overall finish and career-best time of 17:27.
