An update from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate at Green Bay Correctional died from suffocation by homicide.
According to WFRV, the update from the sheriff’s department says that’s how 19-year-old Micah Laureano died and how the suspect, 24-year-old Jackson Vogel, allegedly killed him.
The two were only cellmates for a few hours before the incident.
Laureano was found in his cell when medical personnel went to GBCI on a report of someone who didn’t have a pulse and was not breathing.
Laureano was later pronounced dead.
Vogel is in prison after being convicted of attempted homicide in Manitowoc County.
Formal charges could be filed as soon as next week.
