Manitowoc’s Treehouse Theater is inviting youths from all over Eastern Wisconsin to try their hand at acting.
Karen Rohrer, the Executive Director of Treehouse Theater, tells Seehafer News that they will be holding auditions for Beauty and the Beast Jr. on September 3rd, 5th, and 7th, and for Lion King Kids on September 15th and 17th.
Rohrer said that the shows will be very similar to what parents watched when they were kids.
“The Junior musicals are a condensed version of the movie, with all of your favorite songs that you would expect to hear and a few surprises,” she explained. “Lots and lots of different characters that kids can identify with and have fun with.”
Beauty and the Beast Jr. will feature up to 55 actors between the ages of 8 and 18, while the Lion King Kids performance will feature up to 35 children ages 6 to 14.
If your child isn’t quite ready to perform on stage but has an interest in acting, Treehouse Theater has programs for them as well.
Rohrer revealed, “We also have a whole bunch of different types of classes starting in September in case kids are looking to get their feet wet without being in a performance, and either one is a good place to start.”
Rhorer also noted that they have had children from around 30 different schools teaming up to learn the art of theater, making Treehouse Theater a fantastic way to get your children out of their shells and meet other kids their age.
