Several area first responder organizations received new lifesaving equipment from the WPS and We Energies’ charitable foundations..
In our area, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office received individual first aid kits for mobile field deputies, Valders Fire Rescue received some rope rescue equipment, the Town of Two Rivers Fire Department got some personal safety flashlights, the Town of Brillion First Responders were gifted patient vital signs measurement equipment, and the Reedsville Fire Department now has some new vehicle extrication gloves.
Also receiving equipment was the Rockwood Fire Department, who were granted a new heavy-duty rescue saw, Kiel Fire Rescue received technical rescue equipment, Kewaunee Police got some new student and school crossing guard safety gear, Branch Fire and Rescue received a new thermal imagine camera, and the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office getting a new safe transport system.
In total, the WPS Foundation and We Energies Foundation donated $175,000 worth of equipment to 100 emergency response agencies around the state
