ReadyWisconsin is looking to help residents get ready for the worst-case scenario.
With September being Preparedness Month, there is no better time than now to make sure you and your family are ready for a disaster.
Wisconsin Emergency Management Administrator Greg Engle noted that “Preparing now keeps you safer, helps you stay calm, and makes sure you can handle whatever comes your way.”
It is suggested that all households develop an emergency plan, which should clearly define what everyone should do should you be stuck at home for multiple days, or are required to leave your home.
Part of your planning should involve creating an emergency supply kit, including non-perishable food, a first aid kit, and water, and reviewing and updating your insurance.
As always, stay informed on any bad weather coming through the area, and on any risks involved in your day to day life.
