The Manitowoc Lincoln Girls Volleyball team received Honorable Mention Recognition in the initial Division One wissports.net coaches poll released late Tuesday afternoon.
The Ships, under Mary Beth Dixon, began the season 8 and 2 after participating in the season-opening Sun Prairie Cardinal Kickoff Labor Day Weekend.
They won six matches in straight sets and split their remaining four matches that went three sets.
The Ships are taking the week off from competition and will host Green Bay Southwest on September 10th in their home and FRCC opener.
Bay Port and Neenah join the Ships in receiving Honorable Mention recognition. Luxemburg Casco tops the Division Two poll with Fox Valley Lutheran second.
The Kiel Raiders and The Ledgers of St. Mary’s Springs (Fond Du Lac) are Honorable mention in Division Three while the Zephyrs of St. Mary Catholic are ranked third.
No local or area school is ranked in Division Four, however Sheboygan Christian and Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran are third and fourth respectively in Division Five.
