A woman riding a motorized scooter has died after being struck by a truck.
Around 5:45 p.m. Thursday (August 29th), The Green Lake Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a crash on County Highway N near Center Road in the Town of Green Lake.
The initial call also stated that a motorized scooter was overturned in the ditch.
Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS workers arriving at the scene confirmed the crash involved a pick-up truck striking a motorized scooter from behind, causing serious injuries.
The woman on the scooter, 77-year-old Linda L Miles from the Markesan area, was transported to a local hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the truck, 80-year-old James Prochnow also from the Markesan area, was uninjured.
The fatal crash remains under investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
