The We Energies Foundation is awarding some grant money to the Kiel Fire Department.
Kiel Lieutenant Kyle Preissner explained that the $1,114 grant provides funds to replace two rescue harnesses and three ladder belts on their ladder truck.
The ladder belts and harnesses serve as vital pieces of fall protection when they use the platform on the ladder truck.
The truck also plays a vital role for Kiel Firefighters, especially with the number of larger structures the city has.
Preissner thanked the We Energies Foundation for their generosity and commitment to public safety.
