The Girl Scouts of Manitou Council are encouraging young girls to sign up to be a part of a local troop.
Denise Schemenauer, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Manitou Council notes that mental health issues have been affecting young people more and more in recent years and that the Girl Scouts offer a positive environment for young girls to gain some confidence.
She tells Seehafer News, “I know firsthand the confidence-building impact of being a Girl Scout… Girl Scouting gave me confidence and an immediate sense of being included.”
