The Manitowoc Lincoln girls’ tennis team picked up a hard-fought win yesterday over Sheboygan North.
The Ships won 4-3 over the Golden Raiders thanks to three singles and one doubles win. Jordin Popp continued her reign of dominance, winning 6-0, 6-0, while Abbie Kaiser defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1.
In number 2 singles, Alison Gates had a barn burner with Julianna van Deventer, with the Golden Raider winning the first set 7-6.
Gates bounced back to win the second game 6-4, before finally earning the set win with a 10-6 victory.
The lone doubles tandem to earn a win was Taylor Peterson and Zylia Kleinfeldt, who won 6-3, 6-0.
The Ships will take the weekend off from competition, with their next match scheduled for next Tuesday against Pulaski.
