Three Milwaukee police officers are recovering after being injured in a shootout on the city’s north side yesterday.
The incident occurred while officers were serving a warrant on a suspect wanted for multiple offenses.
According to Police Chief Jeffrey Norman, the suspect was wanted for gun possession as a felon, sexual assault, and other charges.
All three officers and the suspect, who was also shot, are expected to survive.
Chief Norman emphasized that firing at law enforcement officers is never acceptable.
Charges against the suspect will be filed by the District Attorney’s office.
