Firefighters around northeastern Wisconsin could still be in the Village of Hilbert this morning as crews still work to put out a fire at the Fox Valley Alfalfa Mill.
An announcement yesterday from the Hibert Volunteer Fire Department says they are starting to work to take the fire down, but because of what caught fire, the scene is still very active.
A new post on the Hilbert Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page says there is a lot of heavy equipment moved around and they plan to be there well into this afternoon (September 10th).
Hibert Fire says there is a long way to go and they have a lot of thank you’ s to give out.
Pictures from the scene show firefighters spreading hay that’s caught fire and putting it out, which could take some time.
A storage facility also looks to have taken quite some damage from the fire. What caused the fire is still not known.
Multiple fire departments were called when the fire first started yesterday, including Kiel and Brillion Fire.
