A former Manitowoc County Board Supervisor has passed away.
County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer announced that it was Joe Janowski who represented the towns of Newton, Manitowoc, Manitowoc Rapids, and the western part of Manitowoc during his term from 2004 to 2010.
He was 87.
According to his obituary, Janowski passed away Wednesday (September 11th) at Froedtert Holy Family Medical Center in Manitowoc.
He was employed by the USDA Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service, which later became the ASCS in Manitowoc.
Janowski was also a member of the Manitowoc Kiwanis Club and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Parish.
Ziegelbauer says flags around Manitowoc County will fly at half-staff next Monday (September 16th), the day of Janowski’s funeral.
