For the first time since her traumatic accident two months ago, Tina Prigge was back on the radio this week.
During Thursday’s episode of WOMT’s After Further Review, Jason Prigge played a pre-recorded message from Tina, who thanked everyone who helped bring her back from the brink of death.
“I am eternally grateful to the medical professionals who worked to exhaustion to save my life,” she said. “That includes not a blood transfusion. Which means I am also grateful to every individual who has made the time to donate blood. It’s possible you helped save my life too.”
Tina lost an arm and a leg in the accident, but she has found a way to cope with that loss while remaining her ever-positive self.
“How we face the situation matters,” she explained. “You can only imagine how bummed I am to wake each morning and see my arm still missing, but I reframe it. My current situation is better than being dead.”
She went on to say how she hopes the coping mechanism she found to work for her could be used by others.
Tina encouraged everyone to “Take stock of the good things in your life and be thankful for the blessings, even the small ones that you have.”
She closed by saying, “Thank you all for your continued love and support. It means the world to Jason and me and lifts us out of that dark place. Take good care of everyone, and stay cool.”
