The city of Green Bay could get lead lines replaced.
An announcement from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says Green Bay is an applicant for funding through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program to improve its public drinking water system by replacing lead service lines.
The public is encouraged to submit comments regarding the project and the environmental impacts it could cause.
Comments must be submitted to the DNR’s Madison office by September 27th.
Depending on the comments, the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program may prepare an environmental analysis before proceeding with a future project.
The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program has determined that the project will not result in significant adverse environmental effects, and no further environmental review or analysis is needed before proceeding with funding the project, according to the DNR.
