A fire in De Pere has caused thousands in damage at two neighboring businesses.
WBAY reports that De Pere Fire Rescue and the Fox River West Fire District were called to the fire at 1238 and 1244 Red Maple Road just after 5:00 a.m. yesterday (September 15th).
The fire is believed to have started in a painting shop and spread to a next-door plumbing shop.
The structures involved had metal roofs, which caused firefighters to deal with more intense heat than usual when fighting the blaze.
Firefighters also performed major cutting operations to get the flames extinguished.
No one was hurt during the fire; however, the two businesses sustained an estimated $300,000 worth of damage.
A cause of fire is yet to be determined, and the fire remains under investigation.
