A Manitowoc man charged with attempted homicide is due back in court today (September 17th).
61-year-old David J. Downs will be before Judge Mark Rohrer at 10:40 this morning for a scheduling conference.
He is facing charges of Attempted 1st first-degree intentional Homicide, Substantial Battery, and Battery, each with domestic abuse modifiers, as well as Resisting an Officer as a repeat offender.
Downs was arrested in May of last year after he allegedly stabbed another person with a kitchen knife.
The victim, who survived the ordeal, told investigators that Downs suddenly became angry, shoved them to the ground, and slowly pushed the knife into their body.
Downs entered a not-guilty plea one year ago and remains in the Manitowoc County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.
