Cecelia A. Fessler, 89, of Manitowoc passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Mary’s at Felician Village.
Cel was born on October 5, 1934 in Manitowoc, the daughter of the late Adam and Agnes (Brefcynski) Tolksdorf. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1952 from Lincoln High School. She then attended Holy Family School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1955. She was an RN at Manitowoc Health Care Center until her retirement. On August 3, 1957, Cel married Kenneth H. Fessler at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Cel is survived by her husband: Ken Fessler, Manitowoc; two daughters: Bonnie Fessler, Manitowoc, and Linda Fessler, Madison; sister-in-law: Dolores Tolksdorf, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Cel was preceded in death by her parents: Adam and Agnes Tolksdorf; daughter: Maria Fessler; six brothers; six sisters; and one brother-in-law.
A funeral service to celebrate Cel’s life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Marshall Site, 2109 Marshall Street at 21st Street, with Rev. Jason Blahnik celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Cel will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
