Donald John Koch, age 94, a Two Rivers resident, peacefully entered into eternal rest Friday, September 13, 2024 at his home in the company of his family.
Donald was born September 6, 1930 in Two Rivers to the late Edward and Clara Haws Koch. Donald attended schools in Two Rivers and then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1949-1950, being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps Reserves in 1956.He was then employed at the Metal Ware Corporation where he met his wife, Doris M. Coenen. They were married at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on September 4, 1954. Donald went on to work for Kornely/Golden Guernsey Dairy as a route man. He also worked for Manitowoc Engineering and Federal Mogul companies. After his retirement, Donald drove school bus in Two Rivers.Donald was a lifetime member of St. Marks/St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers, where he sang in the choir for many years. He enjoyed gardening, camping, cards/cribbage, following the St. Louis Cardinals and was a Green Bay Packers season ticket holder since 1961.
Survivors include his children, Tom (Cathy) Koch of Manitowoc, Karen Koch of Two Rivers, Teresa (Dean) Koch of Manitowoc, Dan and Julie Koch of Clarks Mills, Susanne Koch of Two Rivers, Kevin and Beth Koch of Valders, Kristeen and Todd Schrieber of Appleton, Mark and Billie Koch of Rockton, IL, Marian and Kris Kowalski of Eau Claire and Michelle and David Lind of Cadott. Donald also has 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Helen Koch of Manitowoc, Judi Bodwin and Elaine Coenen of Two Rivers, and brother-in-law, Dale Coenen of Mishicot. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris, a daughter, Barbara Koch-Sadro; his brothers, Robert and Glenn Koch; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol (Harry) Meihsner and Joan (Norris) Gilbert; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Benedict and Gladys Panure Coenen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Catherine Coenen, Wesley (Winnie) Coenen, Emmett (Ruth) Coenen, Kenneth (Jean) Coenen, Francis (Ruth) Coenen, Raymond Coenen, Sandra Coenen, Gail Coenen, Richard Hallada, and William Bodwin.
Funeral services for Donald will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Reverend Dave Pleier, with burial to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Military honors will be accorded at the church immediately following the Mass by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
