Katrina Baur, the mother of Elijah Vue, has released a statement following the confirmation of her son’s remains being found.
WBAY reports that the statement was put out though Baur’s attorney, Amber Gratz.
Baur’s statement said she was devastated to hear the news of the discovery of Elijah’s remains.
She also mentioned that she is mourning the loss and was still holding out hope that he would be found alive.
In a press conference last week, the Two Rivers Police Department confirmed that the skeletal remains found within the city limits were in fact those of missing 4-year-old Elijah.
Both Baur and her boyfriend Jesse Vang remain behind bars on charges of felony child neglect, not related to the disappearance and death of Elijah.
Since the finding last week, no new charges have been filed.
