Tickets are still available for the upcoming Miss Harbor Cities and Miss Harbor Cities teen competition.
The event takes place this Saturday (September 21st) at the Capitol Civic Center beginning at 5:00 pm.
This means that Miss Harbor Cities 2024 Winner Jenna Watkins will be ending her reign after winning the competition in 2023.
She explained she got into the competition to overcome social anxiety and has since attended numerous events to represent the organization.
Watkins’ focus has been on internet privacy following an incident she had.
“They stole my bank account number, and they emptied out my bank account because I happened upon a scam website that I thought I was buying homecoming from,” she explained. “Never got the dress but instead got my bank account emptied.”
Since then, Watkins has been working with local Girls Scout groups to teach them how to stay safe online, and helped judge at Sputnikfest.
She also spoke on the WCUB Breakfast Club about the upcoming Miss Harbor Cities and Miss Harbor Cities teen competition explaining while the audience will see.
“An on-stage question that all our competitors will be answering,” Watkins said. “You’re also going to see a talent. You’re going to be seeing all our competitors walk in their fitness wear as well as in their evening gowns.”
But what the audience won’t see is a 10-minute interview that takes place before the competition.
Watkins says she’s still going to keep working to help people understand internet privacy after a new Miss Harbor Cities is crowned.
The winners have the chance to go on to future competitions like Miss Wisconsin and even Miss America.
