A weekend fire in Sheboygan has displaced five individuals.
The Sheboygan County Communications Center received a call reporting a structure fire in the 1800 block of South 17th Street just before 8:00 p.m. yesterday (September 22nd). Within three minutes of the call, the Sheboygan Fire Department arrived to find a large amount of smoke coming from the home’s second floor.
Residents had already evacuated; however, firefighters were able to safely remove two cats and two dogs from inside.
The blaze was extinguished within five minutes, but the cause is yet to be determined.
No one sustained any injuries due to the fire, but an estimated $15,000 worth of damage was done to the home.
As a result, five residents and four pets have been displaced.
