Wisconsin is pursuing a new artificial intelligence (AI) project aimed at enhancing manufacturing.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is drafting a proposal for the initiative, which is part of a national effort led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
If selected, Wisconsin could see tens of millions of dollars invested in the state.
Key players in the project include UW-Milwaukee, Rockwell Automation, Milwaukee Tool, and Husco International.
There’s no confirmation yet on when NIST will decide or when Wisconsin will learn if it has been chosen.
