James Mathew Kubsch, age 73, a Town of Kossuth resident, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at his home.
He was born October 19, 1950 in Manitowoc, son of the late Orville and Rose (Novy) Kubsch. Jim attended Mishicot High School, graduating with the class of 1968. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jim received a welding certificate from LTC, and was employed as a welder in the engineering department at Manitowoc Shipbuilding. He also had a passion for farming and has been operating the family farm since 2006. This property has been in the Kubsch family since 1893.
Jim’s hobbies include travelling, going to concerts, car and tractor events, and attending veteran events. He was a member of AMVETS Post 99 of Manitowoc. Jim’s laid-back nature and incredible sense of humor will be greatly missed and forever cherished. A special thank you to his friends and family for all their help this year. Jim is survived by his three children: Tessa Kubsch (Josh) Meissner, Brianna Lynn (Christopher) DeLeske, and Kelly Gordon James Kubsch; three grandchildren: Gabriel Jerald Goodell, Meredith Lorgan Meisner, and Burke Glenn Meissner; his wife: Martha Kubsch; his sister: Gloria Jean Baker; his brother: Timothy Lee Kubsch; his niece: Robin Baker Carter.
Jim will be laid to rest at Kossuth National Cemetery, Town of Kossuth on Saturday, September 28th at 11:45am. A Celebration of his life will be held immediately following at Kubsch’s old tavern (1233 Main St, Kellnersville).
