The city of Two Rivers is applying for another Urban Forestry grant through the Wisconsin DNR.
City Parks and Recreation Director Mike Mathis says previously, the grants have helped with both tree planting and tree removal of ash trees.
One of the regular grants would require a 50/50 match and can be anywhere between $1,000 to $25,000.
City Manager Greg Buckley says, “We’ll be looking for some help with tree plantings with this year’s applications.”
Last year, the city received the grant as part of its tree management plan.
