Fond du Lac has received a grant to help reduce substance use in their community.
The funding is part of the Drug-Free Communities Program Grants and will be aimed specifically at those ages 12 through 18.
The city of Fond du Lac will be focusing on collaboration, sustainability, and data-driven strategies to make a long-term impact.
The grant was given out to Fond du Lac via the CDC’s Drug-Free Communities Support Program, which is the leading effort in the U.S. to mobilize communities to eliminate youth substance use.
This program provides over 700 awards to coalitions like the Fond du Lac Drug-Free Communities Coalition every year.
Aaron Goldstein, Fond du Lac Chief of Police and coalition member, shared that the vision of the coalition is “Healthier Children Today, Healthier Community Tomorrow.”
