You may see more clothes hanging outside next month.
InCourage, Manitowoc’s domestic violence support organization, has announced that they are participating in The Clothesline Project in October as a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The Clothesline Project began in 1990 in Hyannis, Massachusetts, where women were given an opportunity to decorate a shirt to help tell their story.
The program has now spread to an estimated 41 states and five countries, with over 60,000 shirts being hung on clotheslines to help stop domestic violence.
You can join the mission by hanging up decorated t-shirts at your business/organization, or InCourage will give you a Clothesline and decorated shirts to hang up.
Anyone in need of supplies can contact Valerie Oswald at InCourage by emailing valarie.oswald@InCourageWI.org.
