Several local and area schools, including all in Manitowoc County, will be participating in the 50th annual Jim Bremser Memorial Cross-Country Invitational in Mishicot this afternoon (September 26th).
The race is named in honor of the talented Mishicot harrier who was hit and killed by a car during the Indian’s Homecoming in October of 1973.
His sister Cindy, also of Mishicot, competed in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, placing fourth in the 3000-meter race.
The middle school runners will take off at 3:30, and the varsity meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
There is also Big East Conference Football as Manitowoc Lutheran heads to Random Lake to meet Random Lake/ Ozaukee, Reedsville hosts Howards Grove, and Cedar Grove-Belgium heads to Oostburg.
All games kick off at 7:00 p.m.
In Girls Tennis, Manitowoc Lincoln hosts Green Bay Preble and Roncalli/Two Rivers hosts Kewaskum in Two Rivers. Both matches begin at 400 p.m.
Also, a full slate of volleyball features a matchup of two of the top three teams in the EWC as Valders hosts Sheboygan Falls.
Elsewhere, Manitowoc Lincoln is at Sheboygan South, Roncalli hosts Kiel, and Brillion is home for Two Rivers.
All matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
The Manitowoc Lincoln Boys Soccer Team heads to Green Bay for a 6:30 match with Southwest, while Kohler hosts Roncalli/Two Rivers and Kiel in a Girls Swimming Triangular meet at 6:00 p.m.
