The Mishicot School District has placed a referendum question on the ballot of the upcoming November election.
The question asks if the district can be allowed to borrow about $29.6 million for several renovations at all three schools in the district.
According to the district, the three big updates include safety and security, building infrastructure, and athletic and academic improvements.
Some of the projects would include building a parent drop-off/pick-up lane and expanding visitor parking to make it less congested, combining the middle school and high school offices into one central location, and making several renovations to the middle school and high school library.
The district is holding two more informational sessions on Thursday, October 10th at 6:00 pm at the Mishicot High School library, while the second session will be at the Mishicot High School Gym on Wednesday, October 23rd.
If the referendum is approved, planning would take about a year before a bid would be placed.
Construction on the project wouldn’t start until around March of 2026 and would be finished by the start of the 2027-28 school year.
