Elijah Vue’s caretaker is scheduled to be back in court later today (September 27th).
39-year-old Jesse Vang is scheduled to have a status conference in a Manitowoc County courtroom later this afternoon.
Vang was the last person to see Elijah before he was reported missing on February 20th.
Since then, the toddler’s remains were found earlier this month three miles away from Vang’s apartment on Kristy Bob Lane and Manitou Drive.
No new charges have been filed since Elijah’s remains have been found; however, current charges against Vang stem from incidents that happened before Elijah went missing.
The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation is currently working to find out how Elijah died.
Vang is charged with chronic child neglect.
Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, faces the same charges. She’s due back in court in October.
