Recent fraud and scam classes aimed at seniors have been deemed a big success.
The Manitowoc County Public Safety Committee has revealed that the “Common Scams and Frauds Targeting Seniors” Educational Series drew nearly 70 individuals to the four sessions, giving the attendees valuable insights and preventative strategies to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
James Falkowski, Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, emphasized the importance of the series, noting, “These presentations are not only informative but also extremely timely and relevant to our community, especially as the number of scams continues to rise.”
The classes were organized through the DATCP, with representatives from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department and officers with the Manitowoc, Two Rivers, and Kiel Police Departments also on hand to answer questions.
Any organization interested in hosting additional educational sessions on scams or other fraudulent schemes is encouraged to contact Falkowski either by emailing JamesFalkowski@ManitowocCountyWI.gov, or by calling 920-663-1053.
